The Strandhotel Wyn is, of course, on the beach. But not just on any beach! On the Brandenburger Strand, where the Windsurf World Cup Sylt is held. And right on the sea front, separated only by one last dune from the beach, the wash margin and the surf. You cannot live closer to the sea on Sylt, a stone’s throw from the centre of Westerland. “Strandhotel”, meaning beach hotel in German, not only describes our location, but also, to a certain extent, our self-image as hosts:

Welcome to Wyn. “Wyn” is Söl’ring, the dialect of North Frisian spoken on Sylt, and means nothing but wind. The idea behind it is quite simple: we want to offer you a holiday experience that is as free, casual, intense and lively as the wind itself that shapes our island. And a little bit as pure and original as the people that this island has produced.
Because Sylters are self-professed free spirits. Here, we are not only hospitable and focused on enjoyment, but also open-minded and quite modern. We, who live with the sea, are born with a love of nature and sustainability.

Our rooms and suites Sylt
All 72 rooms and suites are cosy and beautiful. Inside, you will find everything you need for comfort and convenience, and nothing that is superimposed or merely representative. The materials, colours and textures are oriented towards the surrounding nature. Wood, as open, light and structured as driftwood, textile surfaces made of warm, natural fabrics that reflect the colour spectrum of sky, beach and sea. In addition to all the usual amenities, all rooms have selected Sylt literature, a tea station with our own tea and, during the summer months, a beach chair on the balcony. Our rooms overlook the dunes, the sea and the interior of the island. And in the form of highly individual portrait photographs that we awarded in a photography competition, they show the
many faces of Sylt.

Our rooms
All of our 72 rooms and suites are cozy and beautiful. You will find everything there that serves convenience and comfort, and nothing that is artificial or merely representative. From the balcony of the "Meerzeit" double room on the 4th floor, you have an impressive view of the sea with the waves swaying in the wind and the wide horizon. A spectacle at all times of the day and night and also in every season.
